Ambulance Fabrication 101 Not Taught in EMS Education
Unfortunately 95% of the ambulances today are not welded to the sidewalls. These other builders use two sided tape or glue due to quicker build times to attach the sidewall tubing to the skin.
Some of these builders tell you it provides a better appearance by not welding the sides. (an industry secret: dare you to look at your ambulance, go to the streetside/driverside of the vehicle and step about 25-30 feet behind the ambulance and if the side is straight you do not have a welded ambulance; note you better be careful in it!)
What they do not tell you is it is deadly in a 911 accident if you take a hit on the sides This can cause death and injury to occur in even minor ambulance accidents.
The Federal "static body roof load test" in KKK-A-1822 standards does not require the ambulance to withstand the stressors in a side collision. It does not matter if you static roof, side or floor test in this manner at even greater limits than required. Without welding your ambulance will separate in a major accident if the sides are not welded.
When the ambulance does not provide the protection when the sides are not welded you are at risk. Name brand ambulances on this website which have come apart have separated is due to lack of welds, lack of structural tubing, plus utilization of thin aluminum in the manufacturing process.
Marque ambulances are constructed of very thick marine grade aluminum and completely welded on the sides, floors, roofs and perimeters.
The aluminum corners and roof are constructed of interlocked extrusions welded together to prevent the ambulance from separating in even the most severe accidents. By using thick side wall skin we also weld each vertical extruding tube to this skin for durability and safety.
In addition we are the only ambulance supplier with side impact beams and center roll bar for your safety!
Due to the tremendous buying power of the Marque family in other aluminum fabrication business (Star Craft Boats) we can provide you with more aluminum without compromising your budget! Our aluminum is up to 40% thicker than other builders in key areas such as door frames, door crossmembers, vertical corner post and side wall assemblies.
With the uncertainty of our economic times when you order an ambulance from us you are obtaining an ambulance designed for low cost remount which is not designed to develop stress cracks in the body. (taped ambulances will stress crack due to ambulance shifting and most of the warranties for this are not worth the paper they are written on)
The Marque family has been in business since the late 1800's and will provide you with the confidence and trust you expect to provide you with the peace of mind.
Your business is very important to us and we would love to design your next ambulance. Select safety, durability and reliability with Reliable Emergency Vehicles, Inc. and Marque Inc.
